New Zealand Funding Sources – Interactive Database

This interactive database contains information about over 230 funding opportunities and resources available to New Zealand business owners, organisations, artists, writers, musicians, performers, dancers, researchers, journalists, scientists, designers & developers, sportspeople, volunteers, entrepreneurs, community leaders and more.

It is a fully searchable and filterable database that provides information on grants offered by New Zealand government ministries and agencies, Creative New Zealand, each of the 65 district councils, private foundations, as well as societies and networks.

Each record includes information about what the fund or opportunity aims to achieve, to help you assess which applies to you.

Tags you can use to filter the results:

  • Type – funding, awards, residencies, internships, trusts & foundations, community trusts, fellowships & scholarships, internships, local government, resources, capability & development, exposure and crowdfunding.
  • Target area – arts & culture, music, dance, performing arts, science, community, business, entrepreneurship, leadership, sports, literature & publishing, research, education, media, film, global NZ, environment, technology and Māori specific.

You may also decide to search by keyword.

To view the full detail for any particular row, click the ‘expand’ button on the far left of that row and a popup box will appear. To learn more and apply for a grant, click the link on the far right of the row.

If you need support with approaching a fund or putting together a funding application, get in touch for a no-obligation chat.

Credit to Creative New Zealand for compiling many of these funding sources on their website.
